General questions

Is there a dress code or uniform for students?

Yes, because students train in real hospitality settings, there is a uniform and dress code policy, as well as a strict grooming policy. (details given during admission).

More than 1,000 students have graduated from GHS to date.

The major part of the lessons especially in the first year are in German. The theoretical curriculum of the hotel subjects is delivered in German as well, while the national subjects are taught in Arabic and English.

Yes, the GHS welcomes applicants from outside Egypt, but they must meet language and admission requirements.

Education

What type of education system does GHS follow?

GHS follows both the German dual-education system: a combination of theoretical classroom study and practical on-the-job training in 4- and 5-star hotels and resorts. As well as the Egyptian national diploma for hospitality

The program runs over 3 years, Students which have already German knowledge and do not follow the
Egyptian Diploma can reduce it to 2 years.

Students train in 4- or 5-star hotels and resorts across Hurghada and El Gouna, gaining hands-on experience in service, kitchen and other hotel operations.

Yes, in Egypt graduates have the possibility to continue their study in the tourism field, and with the IHK certificate, graduates are able to upgrade their education in the assign field of education (it is not possible to enter a university abroad with the certificate)

Application & Payment

Who can apply?

In general students interested in training should be at least 15 years old (not older than 18 years). They must
have a school leaving certificate (secondary school leaving certificate) with a minimum score of 70% of the
same year or last year. Required is a good general knowledge, to enjoy dealing with guests, be sociable and open.
Good knowledge of mathematics, English and Arabic is also required

The application process starts End of February / beginning of March. Applicants have to fill out the registration
here.
After reviewing the admission, suitable candidate will have an online admission test which will be conducted in several governorates and all students passing the test will be invited to an interview at the school. The interviews will be conducted after receiving the final results of the 3rd Prep exams.(usually in June).

For the current school year 2025/2026 the partial sponsored school fees are 33.000 LE per school year
including books and uniform (without accommodation)

Yes — the school owner Sawiris Foundation for Social Development, is offering 2 kind of scholarships: fully
funded scholarships and partly funded scholarships. Applications have to be send directly in order to check the eligibility.

Campus

What facilities does GHS provide on campus?

GHS offers next to modern classrooms with smartboard, a fully equipped professional training kitchen,
restaurant-style training facilities, hotel-room simulation, reception/lobby-bar setups, a computer lab, and dormitory accommodations.

Yes — GHS provides dormitory accommodation with capacity for approximately 145 students, including student
rooms and communal facilities for students outside of the Red Sea governorate.

Yes — GHS offers a Virtual Tour on its website so prospective students can explore the facilities, furthermore, please check our about our next Open Day.

Yes – the GHS is having an open day where anyone is free to visit the school. Open Day 2026 is the 5th of February

Diploma & Follow up

Is the diploma internationally recognized?

Yes — graduates receive a certificate accredited by the German Chamber of Industry and Commerce (IHK Leipzig) which is internationally accepted and recognized by the Egyptian Ministry of Education. Furthermore they receive the Egyptian diploma of hospitality which allows them to continue their education in this field as well here in Egypt.

Graduates are prepared for roles across hotel operations, including guest service, restaurant/wait staff, kitchen/
culinary, front office, reservation, and hotel management assistance, depending on specialization.

Yes — the dual system and internationally recognized certification enable graduates to seek employment in Egypt
or internationally, including opportunities in Europe.
