What do you do in this profession?

Training as a Skilled Kitchen Assistant is a versatile and practice-orientated apprenticeship that provides you with the knowledge and skills you need to be successful in the catering industry. In this apprenticeship, you will acquire the tools you need to work in restaurants, hotels, catering companies or other catering establishments.

During your training, you will be expected to work carefully and precisely. You will need to be organised to keep the kitchen running smoothly and you should have an eye for detail. Teamwork is also an important aspect as you will be working closely with other kitchen staff.
What do you learn in this profession?

During your training, you will work in one of the renowned hotels in El Gouna and learn the practical application of what you have learnt at school.

What do you learn as a Skilled Kitchen Assistant?

During the 3-year training program, you will learn about the following areas of responsibility:

Food science and hygiene
Preparation techniques
Menu planning and design
Kitchen organisation
Presentation and serving
Compliance with hygiene and safety regulations when processing food
Storage and ordering of food and ingredients
Cleaning and maintenance of kitchen appliances and utensils
Cooperation

What do we expect from you?

Aadadeya (general graduation) or equivalent
At least 15 years old
Language skills (good English, Arabic)
Open to talking to guests, customer and service orientation
Ability to work in a team and good communication skills
Good memory and maths skills
Good organisational and hard-working skills
Good physical resilience (when working while walking or standing)
Flexibility
Well-groomed appearance
